Cause

The Royal Canadian Theatre Company is a theatre and event producing not-for-profit society. The Royal Canadian Theatre Company has been in operation since 2006 to the present, and throughout that time has presented theatrical events annually at the Surrey Arts Centre, The Anvil Centre, and The Massey Theatre.

Live performance is so special because there will never be an exact moment quite like it. The audience is always different, the reactions are special and the cast brings a story to life. Your 50/50 ticket purchase helps us continue producing plays, teaching classes and supporting accessible needs.

Do you know someone who has never been able to enjoy live theatre because it was too loud, they couldn't sit still or they were generally overstimulated? We do! We have provided the first theatre experience for many children and adults in the Lower Mainland. We want to keep live performance available for anyone with disabilities, behavioural needs, those who are D/deaf or hard of hearing and families with young children.

How do we keep Theatre Accessible? We offer relaxed performances with tickets under $20 for all patrons (more than 1/2 our regularly priced tickets). We make small technical adjustments to make the show less likely to overstimulate people. You will still get the exact same show! Finally, we partner to offer ASL interpretation for the relaxed performances and work with a Theatre Education Assistant to offer special one to one assistance on and offstage. The more money we raise, the more we can offer. In the future, we would love to expand to offer VocalEye Live Descriptions for Blind audience members.

Join the movement! Help us keep theatre accessible by buying a 50/50 ticket today!
